Monika Güldenberg completed her architecture studies at the RWTH Aachen, with guest study visits to the Terza Universita in Rome and the HDK in Berlin. After graduating in 2000, she worked in various planning offices before returning to her hometown of Gelsenkirchen in 2004. Since then she has been working independently on various projects in the fields of revitalisation and conservation, urban planning procedures and neighbourhood renewal as well as new building planning. The focus of her work is not fixed on building types, but rather motivates her to capture complex requirements and user profiles in clear structures and to translate these into structural forms and clear architectural language. She is voluntarily involved in the professional association Bund Deutscher Architektinnen und Architekten BDA. Since 2013, she has been involved in various projects on Bochumer Strasse.
