Mathias Wagener

Historian with a focus on inland navigation & scientific officer at the LWL-Industriemuseum Schiffshebewerk Henrichenburg

After studying history, prehistory, early history and archaeology in Bochum and Turku, Mathias Wagener has been working as a scientific advisor at the LWL Industrial Museum Henrichenburg Ship’s Hoist since 2019, focusing on inland navigation. In curating and designing his exhibitions, digital mediation is a decisive field in which the topic of “virtual reality” also flows in.
