The creative people came from the neighbourhood (Beate Gärtner and Jan Schulten), from other parts of Germany (Lena Biresch, Ilja Mirski, Kathi Schulz) and from the near abroad (Lucas Dewulf from Gent, Belgium). But it is not only geographically that the artists had different origins – their creative approaches also differ. The influences range from dramaturgy to sound design, from directing to visual arts, from classical media art to immersive storytelling. On the Sunday before the Places _ VR Festival, the 6 actors met for the first time in their working laboratory for this week, the Subversiv on Bochumer Straße.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1598870084368{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

The Artists

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”14376″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1598870096644{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

Lena Biresch

Theatre director from Hamburg
lenabiresch.de[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”14372″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1598870105160{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

Lucas Dewulf

Nearly Norman
Creative technologist and immersive storyteller from Ghent, Belgium
nearly-norman.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”14381″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1598870121781{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

Beate Gärtner

Media artist from Essen
beategaertner.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”14374″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1598870132620{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

Ilja Mirsky

Dramatic advisor from Tübingen
kollektivmosaik.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”14378″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1598870147153{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

Jan Schulten

Sound designer from Essen
schultenmedia.de[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”14370″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1598870157115{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

Kathi Schulz

Artist from Düsseldorf
kathischulz.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1600067688026{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1601282312064{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]The social VR performance detached deals with the boundaries of digital and analog worlds, control and voyerism.
